Another Loch Ness Monster Reference!
So I'm reading Breaking Dawn, the 4th and final book in the Twilight saga, when out of the blue there is a Loch Ness Monster reference! SPOILER ALERT!: Bella and Edward have a baby and the baby's name is Renesmee, but Jacob gives her a cute nickname, Nessie. Bella gets mad and says, "you nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness Monster!" Lol. I thought it was hilarious!

Bats in the Wild

Saturday night I went to a local Metro Park to observe bats in the wild. It was very cool and informative. There was a Park Ranger who talked about bats for a while and answered any questions that we had. She had some bat puppets and a picture of a bat wing, there were a lot of kids there. She also had these small amplifiers that allowed us to hear the sounds that the bats were making even before we could see them. We started out in a picnic area, but later walked to a nearby pond where there were many bats flying around catching and eating insects. I remembered to bring the camera, but I forgot it in the car. D'oh! Maybe next time I go I'll take pics. But for now...just picture cute little brown bats flitting through the air. *Edit* I'm putting up a pic of a brown bat, so you can see how cute they are!

Cryptid Kids Books

I have at least 2 kids books that have cryptids in them. One is called Big Snowy by Jim Slater from the A. Mazing Monsters collection. It's about a Yeti or Abominable Snowman. The other one is The Werewolf of Fever Swamp by R. L. Stine from the Goosebumps series. I also had The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena also a Goosebumps book, but I recently gave it away on Bookmooch.com. I love kids books and I love kids books that are spooky even more! I've had the Big Snowy book since I was a kid. It's a really easy to read book with very few words and some amazing drawings done by the author's 10 year old son Christopher Slater. I've always like the Abominable Snowman for some reason, and I think I owe it all to this book. I aquired The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena recently in a thrift store. I had to get it because 1) it's a goosebumps book 2) it's about the Abominable Snowman and 3) because it was about Pasadena, California and I used to live nearby. It was a really good book also, I love all of the Goosebumps books that I've read so far. I just finished reading The Werewolf of Fever Swap because I've recently become obsessed with Werewolves thanks to the Twilight Saga books I've been reading. Also, great books by the way. I'm glad these kinds of books are available for kids. Who knows, they might just inspire a whole new generation of cryptozoologists.
Loch Ness Monster Tattoo
I had the misfortune of watching Paul Blart:Mall Cop. It really sucked, even though I like Kevin James. SPOILER ALERT: But one good/funny thing that was in the movie, was that he ended up getting a lower back tattoo of the Loch Ness Monster. That was probably the most hilarious part of the movie, or at least it was to me. Talk about cryptids popping up in unusual places. Lol.
