Yes I know that Moby Dick was a sperm whale and this whale is a humpback. But I doubt a white sperm whale will ever appear. Anyway, his name is Migaloo, whose Australian Aboriginal name means "white fella." Recently spotted June 30th in Australian waters. He is the only known white humpback whale in existence and he's beautiful! He was first sighted in 1991 and is originally from Australia’s Great Barrier Reef area, but migrates to the waters off Antarctica yearly. He is an adult whale estimated to be 21-23 years old. There have been unconfirmed sightings of a white humpback calf, but so far no real proof has surfaced.
